We got invited to curate one feature and one short for the new Northside Film Festival. We chose two of our favorites: We Are Cave Creatures by Chris King, Clay Franklin, Adam Pogoff and Whit Bernard and Wolfy’s Journey by Leat Klingman.
We are Cave Creatures
In April 2011, Moviehouse asked composers Whit Bernard & Adam Pogoff to compose and record a film soundtrack for a movie that did not exist. Once, complete Moviehouse then handed the soundtrack over to animator Chris King. Chris created a movie, but then Moviehouse removed the soundtrack and gave the now silent film to a second composer Clay Franklin. We Are Cave Creatures is both versions of the film, first with the original soundtrack it was created from and second with the soundtrack that was made composed to the film.
Wolfy’s Journey by Leat Klingman
Wolfy has embarked on a journey of self-discovery. “I want to eat the world!”- he says, but how is still undetermined; yet his mind is set out for an adventure. Joining Wolfy, we sail with him on what is to be an enchanting, musically, challenging and endearing path. Amongst the fanciful characters Wolfy meets on this path there is an Italian one-winged bird and a magical French dragon; much joy, words of wisdom and questionable tricks are to be presented throughout his journey, and Wolfy confronts them with his gentle yet curious way, with the help of a long lost friend. A rare moment, for those who are young at heart.
